HackMed Ecuador was a great success with more than 60 participants and ten teams in total coming to Quito, Ecuador on September 13-15, 2019. We have seen over 40 different problems pitched by the participants on the first night.
First place winners were: URA KAWSAY who use technology and sensors to detect the start of a heart attack and alert the paremedics before the patient realizes they are having a heart attack.
Second place was a tie between two teams:
V-Thane: A shock absorbing chair pad to reduce vibration induced occupational injury in bus drivers.
RAFT: Using technology to predict physical therapy
Winners received cash prizes and space in a local incubator. All teams are energized and looking forward to continuing their ideas!
